If you follow hair styles and fashions at all, you’ll be well aware by now that 2016 was all about the ‘lob’, with celebs and the masses alike signing up for inches and inches chopped off their locks. As hair stylists, we thoroughly embraced this change, and loved the sway toward a looser, shorter and more carefree look. Many of you braved the cut with us, and across the board, you tell us that your hair never felt so good, so for this, we thank shortening hair trends and your bravery!
A quick sweep of magazine hair forecasts and on checking out the S/S 2017 catwalks, we can see that shorter styles aren’t going anywhere fast. While some predict the rise of the ‘anti-bob’, a rebellious, choppy affair, others are hailing grown out shags or the more classic and sleek graduated bob varieties as this year’s in thing. One thing seems sure, and that’s that whatever your bob, Bardot-style bangs are definitely going to feature highly.
These longer, more informal fringes make for a great way to update your look, even if you plan to keep length elsewhere. We also offer free fringe trims at Boilerhouse, so there’s no excuse for your fringe to not be looking en-pointe at all times! This longer fringe style lends itself to small, regular fringe trims for sure, so we’ll look forward to seeing more of you 🙂
Have a browse of some of the magazine forecasts below and, by all means, if you’re looking for a restyle and seriously thinking about switching up your look, bring photos to your appointment! There’s a general misconception that stylists hate when a client brings in photos and that’s definitely not true. Sometimes the photos are completely unrealistic but this in itself is helpful, because it allows us to explain how and/or why the look is not appropriate or achievable on your head of hair, but often we can take far more positives from your visual aids than we can throw negatives, so get saving inspo, pinning pics and we’ll see you soon for your new year transformation!
