Christmas Salon Tips
One of the most important things to consider during the party season is keeping your salon running like clockwork! Admittedly, it’s hard to keep on top of things, but following these tips, you’ll be sorted in no chance:
#1 Don’t overbook!
This is one of the most important things to consider when running a salon over the party season! As nice as it is having a full salon, you don’t want to overstretch yourself. You might hear the sound of cash registers in your head, but if you try and cram in too many appointments then the standard is likely to drop, clients won’t receive the level of required level of service, and staff will end up stressed. What’s more, you won’t get repeat business! So be realistic and work out the best way to accommodate as many people as possible without leaving your salon stuck in the mud with overbookings.
#2 Keep on top of cleanliness and hygiene
During busy times, it can be easy to neglect cleanliness and hygiene of the salon, however, it is integral this remains your utmost priority. Take the time to mop the floors, clean surfaces, equipment and so forth, especially so that you are all prepped to take on the New Year in the salon!
#3 Look after staff
Christmas can get hectic and it’s important to be aware that the increased frequency of bookings and clientele can be stressful for salon staff. During periods, your staff may be required to work longer hours and for this reason, it is essential they feel well looked after, both emotionally and physically! Make sure everyone in the salon takes regular breaks, takes time to eat and refuel so that they are fresh and not on their feet the whole day exhausted. That way, everyone working in the salon stays happy and are able to keep the client happy!
#4 Christmas marketing campaigns
Christmas is an integral time of year for salons to maximise their retail revenue! Make sure you have all your Christmas marketing campaigns in place and offers on to get people in the door.
